Islands of Ice
A copper colored creek runs through the ghost town of Burke, Idaho, which was once a bustling mining community. The creek’s name is Canyon Creek, and, in my mind, being here melds the realm of a calm mountain stream with industrial mining operations all in one scene. This creek is beautiful any time of year, but the islands of ice that I found on this day drew me to them.
